Nick may not have gotten his highest scores last week while performing a Paso Doble with switch-up week partner Witney Carson, but he made it known tonight that one semi rough week wont keep him down. Reunited with partner Sharna Burgess, the pair worked vigorously all week to perfect a perfect disco themed Samba to work into their famous dance from Saturday Night Fever.
With his best Tony Monero (John Travoltas Saturday Night Fever character), a slick looking Nick Carter strutted down the and into this ballroom, bringing his own disco ball and a winning attitude. As You Should Be Dancing began to play, it was clear that hard work pays off. Sharna and Nick danced a perfectly choreographed Samba that intertwined with the classic SNF scene. Somewhere, John Travolta was giving this performance a standing ovation.
As if the pressure of taking on such an iconic character wasnt enough, guest judge Olivia Newton-John was watching the whole thing. Given the close relationship that Travolta and Newton-John have, Nick really had to nail the character as well as the dance. She approved, as did Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli, all three judges giving him his first 10s of the season! With a 39 out of 40, Team SharNick is still near the top of the leaderboard for the night and is second highest scoring overall for the season so far!
